Award winning filmmaker Maxime Giroux’s (Felix & Meira) surreal, Lynchian road movie sees Philippe (Martin Dubreuil), a penniless draft-dodger from Quebec, exploring the mythic American West while making ends meet by competing in Charlie Chaplin impersonation contests. As Philippe progresses on his epic journey he encounters various bizarre characters, all under the sway of a destructive madness borne of the chaotic times they live in. His voyage is a hallucinatory initiation to the darker, violent, side of the American dream. It's a fascinating, beautifully shot, uncategorizable and uncompromising film featuring fantastic performances by Dubreuil and, in a stand-out supporting role, Sarah Gadon (Alias Grace).
