Ilana's Picks

Ilana's Picks

Ever since I was a child, I was always attracted to the odd, the strange, and the macabre in cinema. I remember going to Blockbuster and renting every movie in the horror section until there were none left to explore. I loved the characters you couldn’t predict, actions that seemed outrageous or senseless. I’ve put together a collection of films that highlight some odd and spooky characters, but also a few relatable tales for good measure.

A young person finding their modus vivendi in a strange and cold world, A wife on a rampage, A self-destructive rocker, a couple working through things using their own individual technique, A maid, hell bent on doing things her own way or else, The zombie film that started it all, and the vampire mockumentary that made us remember that vampires are just like us.

I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I do. I will be adding to it from time to time so if you like my picks, make sure to check back every so often. You may just find your new favourite!
