When high school student Amiko becomes smitten with local boy, Aomi, following a deep and meaningful conversation, he suddenly, and mysteriously, disappears. After being given a clue of his whereabouts, she decides to track the object of her affection down, embarking on a mission to (re)claim her new-found love. Writer/director/editor/production designer (!), Yoko Yamanaka, was the the youngest director to ever screen a film at the Berlin Film Festival when the film was showcased there. Like the titular character, her film is a spirited, free-wheeling delight, buoyed by wonderful dialogue and an infectious, irresistible exuberance.
