Five years after suddenly disappearing from the Manitoba town where he grew up, Will Morrison (Lukas Haas) turns up at the family home of his lifelong best friend, Daniel Bloom (Adam Scott). Daniel's well-meaning mother (Wendy Crewson) and father (R.H. Thomson) call both their son and Will's ex-wife, Maggie (Molly Parker), to relay the good news, but soon enough the truth behind Will's departure comes out, and long-held secrets and resentments must be addressed.
