Elaine and her 16-year-old son, Tom move from the UK back to a small town in Ireland where Elaine grew up. The mother and son have a rocky relationship - one that is riddled with resentment and hostility. Tom quickly befriends the rebellious girl next door - Holly (‘Sex Education”) and the two start to spend some time together. After discovering a secret of Holly’s, both she and her seemingly unstable father would prefer to be kept hidden, Elaine, Tom, and Holly are are pulled into a violent confrontation with the father, who will go to great lengths to keep the secret from getting out.
