Dok Leipzig 2018 – Next Masters Competition
Cinema Morocco, located in São Paulo, Brazil was once the location of lavish red carpet film premieres and the most luxurious theatre in South America in the 50's. It was the host to Hollywood stars and South American premieres of classic films like Sunset Boulevard and Grand Illusion. The present day cinema looks a little different, acting as a home for homeless Brazilians, Latin-American immigrants and African refugees who reenact scenes from classic films shown in the theatre over 60 years prior. Facing the threat of eviction, they go on a journey from life to fiction, from three to two dimensions.
