The winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Locarno International Film Festival, Somebody Up There Likes Me is a comedic fable about a man watching his life fly by. Max (Keith Paulson), along with his best friend Sal (Nick Offerman) and the woman they both adore, stumbles through thirty-five years of mandatory but seemingly unfulfilling entanglements. Written and directed by cult auteur Bob Byington (Lousy Carter) the film features an original score from Vampire Weekend's Chris Baio and stunning animated sequences from Bob Sabiston (A Scanner Darkly. The experience of life sneaking up on you while time seemingly stands still has never been more surreal nor charmingly entertaining.
