'Remarkable performances by the two young actors at the centre of the film -- along with assured, subtle storytelling by director/screenwriter Ingrid Veninger -- propel this cottage country coming-of-age drama.' The Globe and Mail

Set over the course of a sun-dappled Ontario summer, Porcupine Lake centres on Bea, a teenager who, with her mother, is visiting her father who has been living in a small community during her parent's separation. While there she befriends local girl, Kate, with whom a strong bond quickly develops. Ingrid Veninger's film offers a pitch-perfect depiction of the complexities of adolescence - the anxieties faced, the raw emotions one has to navigate, and the excitement and freedom experienced. The film is a wondrous and poignant coming-of-age drama which beautifully examines one of those brief almost dreamlike periods that only seem to happen when on the brink of adulthood, yet say with us forever.
