Neds follows the story of John McGill, a young boy growing up in 1970s, Scotland. While a brilliant pupil who excels at school, his studious nature causes conflicts with his working-class family and the wider, gang-riddled neighbourhood. Directed and written by Peter Mullan, who drew upon his own childhood experiences in Glasgow when making the film, NEDS is a powerful, intelligent and hugely impactful.
