Pavel Cuzuioc’s observational documentary follows cable technicians in Eastern Europe - in Kyiv, Ukraine, Buzău County in Romania and the resort of Tsavero in Bulgaria. As the engineers go about their business, fixing TVs, fax machines and phone lines, we are introduced to individuals from all walks of life. These encounters range from being very humorous, occasionally heartbreaking, and often surprising. Cuzuioc’s film has a wonderful humanity at its core as it insightfully examines the broad theme of human connection, as well as the role telecommunications play in our day-to-day existence.
