Set over a three day period, Dust And Ashes follows a grieving Hae-su (Ahn So-yo), who is forced to learn and navigate a bureaucratic system in order to collect insurance after the death of her mother. Overworked and underpaid, she grapples with the looming specter of eviction, ultimately taking desperate measures in order to escape impoverishment. Writer/director Park Hee-kwon's film perceptively peers beneath the surface of contemporary South Korean society, exposing deep-seated injustices.
