Argentinian director Santiago Loza's highly imaginative, and consistently surprising, Brief Story From The Green Planet premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in 2019, going on to win the festival’s Teddy Award for Best LGBTQ+ film. It centres on Tania, who, having discovered that her grandmother spent the last years of her life in the company of an extraterrestrial (!), travels with her two friends to bring the creature back to its place of origin. While it's as quirky as the premise indicates, Loza's heartfelt film is also rooted in very real issues relating to identity, self-worth and acceptance.
