Set in rural England in early 2013, 175 follows Ruth and Juliet, a devoted couple caught in a race against time. As Parliament debates the legalization of same-sex marriage, Juliet’s health is in rapid decline due to a terminal illness. Their hope of being legally wed before it’s too late hangs in fragile balance.
With poignant performances from Lizzy McInnerny (The Crown), Suzanna Hamilton (1984), and Francesca Zoutewelle (Mr. Turner), 175 captures the emotional weight of love, loss, and the political forces that define who gets to say “I do.”
Anchored by Alan Snelling’s stirring original score and inspired by true events, this film is both a deeply personal love story and a reminder of the hard-fought victories that brought us here and the work still left to do.
